I started painting today it will need 2 coats at least, this
is the most boring thing to do on earth
24-05-09 Well after a couple of coats i decided the next job
was to build an internal flight with a hatch to the outside flight
this is the start i will be adding either another internal flight
or some breeding cages at a later date.

Hers the frame under construction i used half inch ply as my
base the i can store things underneath when i need too you can
see the most important tools tobacco and coffee this keeps everything
straight for me. The door is in the middle this will open out
to the left side because of the sloping roof of the shed

The door now has hinges this will all be painted before i fit
the mesh the above right shows the entrance to the outside flight
i will fit a sliding door to this shortly.

Some pics i thought i would throw in the above left shows my
wild bird feeders in the tree these seem to be very popular and
above right are 3 of my canary's basking in the sun.
14th june 09
This weekend has been fairly warm again in the sun and the previous
week was showers on and off but i got a fair bit done.
 .........
These last 3 pictures show where i have painted the inside white
and the cage you can see will be the internal flight its not that
big but the birds can come inside and feed and roost at night.
The door i have made in the center and it opens opposite to a
conventional door the reason for this is the slope on the shed
roof, Also its held on with 2 hinges.
ii finally gave the shed 2 coats of emulsion white, it could
do with 3 coats really because emulsion is thin. I've tried the
one coat stuff in the past and its rubbish you still have to prime
or give 2 coats.
I started making the base for the outside flight, The floor is
half concrete and half mud so i need to protect the flight from
vermin.
above pics show the base/floor panel i have under wired it with
mesh and also put a ground sheet on it to stop weeds growing through
and no mice or rats will come through this, When its laid on the
floor i will put a layer of bricks on top and cover this with
pea shingle. I don't think even an elephant could dig under this
flight
I will start another page now before this gets to long.
