My bird room
My aviary is basically a 10 foot by 8 foot
T&G apex shed which i have sectioned off the last 2 feet as
my indoor aviary. It also houses my finches in a separate area.
At the moment i only have 1 double breeding cage but very shortly
i will build more breeders when my cage fronts eventually turn
up that i ordered over a month ago from petsparade.co.uk, wont
go there again.
Anyway my outside flights consist of an
8 foot by 3 foot run for my budgies and a separated area of 2
foot by 4 foot for my finches both with roofs. my quails are in
the biggest area and my java sparrows are in the breeding cage.

. . . . . .
It was a sunny day when i took these pics
hence the glare from the mesh, but you can see the last 2 feet
is sectioned and that is the main aviary, On the left is my double
breeder and just in front of that in the above right picture is
my finch area, when i get the time i want to re fit out my shed
with new ideas that i have, i.e. the left side will be breeding
cages and where my double cage is now i want to install an indoor
flight for young budgies.
. . . . .

The glare off the mesh is unbelievable in
photo from the sunlight but you can see 5 sections and the section
nearest the front on the above right picture is a separate flight
for my finches.
And this last picture is the end of the flight showing the finch
area.
Update 10-07-08 I've planted some shrubs
and bits and pieces outside my aviary to make it look a bit smarter
and here's my little vicious dog on the right. 'called Evie' as
in eeevee. She's my pest controller and keeps an eye on my aviary.
SAS trained.
I colony breed at the moment but that will
all change soon so i know who's who
When i re-fit my shed i will post more pic's
here.
Well I've been busy again and i've just
built a bird kindergarten to house my fledglings
from the breeding boxes before they go
into the main aviary.
I've got some more pic's to upload shortly of my bird room, I've
been
making some changes . keep looking at this
space.
My aviary electrics:
Well today i was asked "can
i use a timer with my flourescent tube lighting" YES
was my answer because i
use one myself, My 2 x 5 foot tubes come on automatically at 8
o'clock am and of again at 8.o'clock pm. Just before it goes of
my little twilight comes on until 9-9.30 pm ( 60w bulb with dimmer
). I also have a seperate fuse box in my shed with 2 fuses, one
for lighting the other for my ring main.
